Changes to the planning system
As you may be aware the Coalition Government is introducing some quite significant changes to the development planning system. There is likely to be some new national legislation in the autumn which will make the position clearer. More information is available at the government's website. The new government has also now removed the south east plan, this was the main strategy which set the framework for our local development framework and in particular the housing numbers. With all this in mind the Council is, therefore, taking stock of these changes, and is reviewing its position in terms of new planning strategy and policy development.
